Hello Everyone,
I know it's been a little while between posts, we are still very busy here and it's going to get much more so over the next month juggling the Pagan calendar with the social norms of our current society that we all have to live in especially our children. Those of you who have kids in the main stream will know what I mean by juggling it.
This Saturday we are celebrating Ostara, the emergence of spring from winter, I personally love the changing of all the seasons, each one has something special to offer as does each of the transitions. The gentle warming of the days, that still hold the crisp evenings, the budding fruit trees & emerging plants from hibernation are all signs of the transition for Winter to Spring. Our garden is alive with these changes and there are so many things that have to be done in the garden also. I am actually a bit organized this year and have completed many of the spring spruce up jobs on time.
Ostara is the spring equinox where the day/night balance occurs for the second time in the year. We use silk flowers decorate with this time of year as I don't like to cut the ones in the garden for a few reasons (one most of them are potential fruit/foods, two they look better in the garden and will produce offspring to continue the cycle & third they die a slow death when used decoratively for no other reason that aesthetics). This is a personal choice though and many of my friends very much enjoy cut flowers at this time of year.
Check out the festival tab for 'Ostara' for more information, have fun this week with the changing of the season Winter to Spring.
