Full Moon last month 28th June 2018
I hope you all enjoyed the last full moon, we where away up the mountains and it was just beautiful. Trees up there are so wonderfully big & tall. It was very windy though which made outdoor energy work interesting.
New Moon July 2018
The new new moon is the 12th to 13th July 2018, take time to look at the things that no longer work for you and/or things that do and how you might be able renew them. Imbolc 2018
Traditionally celebrated on the 1st of August we are holding ours mid August as it's easier for everyone to attend. More information on Imbolc can be found under our festival tab.
For us we will be holding comfort foods feasting again along the lines of those of our ancestors mainly winter vegetables and roasted/salted meats. I will try to remember to take photos of the food this time (I forgot to do this at Yule this year).
Making wands & smudge fans at this time is lots of fun & then you can use them in the ritual to wake up the ground & finally for this festival lighting of lots & LOTS of candles is one of the things we like to do.
Full Moon 28th July 2018 - Eclipse Blood Moon
For Australia this July brings us the Eclipse Blood Moon & it should be visible for us for a number of hours. This blood moon holds the promise of abundance. The energies of the blood moons are heavier than other full moons however they are still very much a part of us, as all things are connected always even when we might not feel that connection. Heavier energies work well when they are acknowledged for what they are. You might find working with these will require more grounding time at the end of your rituals/spells/energy works. Energy work for us will centre around abundance for family, friends & our environment & planet.
We will use the new moon in July to start this line of intent in order to build the energies to this moment. It's traditionally very cold at this time of year where we are which adds to energies we are working with, however if you are in an area that is very cold don't feel you have to work outside, inside where it's warm will be just as effective when you intent is focused. If you can though, pop outside for a few moments to see the blood moon.
